In need of a healthy body, the White Sox on Thursday will activate their second baseman, who has been on the disabled list since March 21 with a strained left oblique, manager Robin Ventura said after Wednesday’s 6-4 win over the Detroit Tigers.

The White Sox have played with a short bench the past two games with outfielder Adam Eaton nursing his left leg and third baseman Conor Gillaspie out with a sore hand. Eaton, who has missed four games, doesn’t appear to be ready to return but the White Sox don’t want to place him on the DL at this point. Gillaspie could return to the lineup on Thursday.
