Harry Winks could be in line for a shock call-up by SPAIN.

Tottenham midfielder Winks has Spanish grandparents and reports from Spain suggest their FA have been investigating whether he is interested and could be eligible.

Winks, 21, has played for England through the age groups from 17s to 20s, but has yet to play a competitive game for the under-21s.

Hertfordshire-born Winks has been catching the eye with a string of impressive performances for Tottenham and that has put him in the spotlight for England.

But the Spanish interest will send alarm bells ringing at the FA who have been interested themselves at seeing if they could tie down British-based players.

The FA looked at Sevilla’s Steven N’Zonzi and also Celtic hot-shot Moussa Dembele to see if they could be nationalised.
