West Ham United are in danger of heading back into a relegation battle.

For most of the season disgruntled Hammers fans directed their anger at veteran boss Sam Allardyce, as West Ham’s direct style of play isn’t for the purists but it usually gets results. Recently though, the wins have dried up for the Irons and it is getting a bit too much for some fans of the East London club.

On Saturday West Ham lost 1-0 away at relegation battlers West Brom. During that loss angry Hammers fans unfurled a banner which read “Fat Sam Out. Killing WHU” as they called for their manager to be fired.

The loss to West Brom was Hammers’ fourth-straight defeat as Allardyce’s men have now lost six of their last eight after an upsurge in results after the festive period. Yet with recent defeats to Crystal Palace and West Brom, the Hammers are now just six points off the drop and it could be five if Cardiff or Sunderland win on Sunday. The likelihood is that West Ham will stay up but they do like to make life difficult for themselves.
