Wes Welker better than ever

"All things considered, Wes Welker was solid last season.

The Patriots wide receiver tore the ACL in his left knee in the 2009 regular-season finale but was back in the lineup on opening day last year. Welker recorded 86 catches for 848 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games, despite lacking some of his trademark quickness.

Now that Welker has had more than a year to recover from the knee injury, he looks better than ever. He has 31 catches for 458 yards and four TDs in three games this season.

That puts him on pace for 165 catches and 2,443 yards, totals that would smash the existing NFL records. While Welker likely won't maintain that pace, his early-season production has erased any questions about lingering effects of the injury."
