The Texas Rangers were supposed to be past the rough part of their schedule. The weather and a couple of day games after night games the past week have made them long for those relaxing days playing 29 of 39 games on the road.

OK, not exactly, but the Rangers have been put through a scheduling grinder the past 10 days. They had to wait out a nearly three-hour rain delay Friday night and endure 104-degree heat in a four-hour loss Thursday afternoon after a game Wednesday night.

That’s not even including traveling three time zones since Aug. 2 and no off-days during the current 16-game stretch. After the Oakland A’s come in for a three-game series beginning Monday, the Rangers get Thursday off, their first of two off-days in a five-day span.
