"Brandon's Webb first opportunity to face live hitters since March 21 didn't go well Monday.

The Texas right-hander threw his first living batting practice since rain cut short a session in Surprise, Ariz.

He hit three batters and struggled with his location throughout the session Monday at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

"It went bad," Webb said. "I was pretty wild. I'll have to go about it again.

"I thought I might be ready to get into a game, but after today, there's no way I'm ready to get in a game after that."

The good news for Webb is that he had no problems with his right shoulder and threw around 70 pitches.

He's hoping to face hitters again Friday in Baltimore, but a timetable for him getting into a game isn't known.

Webb knows what the outcome would have been if Monday's session would have been a game."
