For about four innings Thursday at Busch Stadium, it looked like the Astros might get interim manager Tony DeFrancesco his first victory.

Dallas Keuchel had retired 12 of the first 13 Cardinals batters, and the Astros' offense had done all the little things right for a four-run lead.

Then came a two-out, four-pitch walk to Carlos Beltran in the fourth.

"I should never have done that," Keuchel said.

Yadier Molina followed with a ground-rule double, and David Freese homered, and just like that, the Cardinals had closed it to a run.

And even though the Astros added a run in the fifth, the Cardinals were waking up. They scored five runs in the fifth off Keuchel and newly called up Hector Ambriz.
