Indianapolis Colts defensive back Vontae Davis missed the Week 9 game against the Houston Texans, though his absence was non-injury related.

Fast-forward to this week, and days leading up to Week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Davis has been ruled out with an injury this time around. Mike Chappell of Fox59 reported on Wednesday that the cornerback will be limited in practice while he rehabs his groin.

There was an additional layer to the story, per Stephen Holder of The Indy Star, who spent time talking to Davis regarding the matter. Davis was apparently “pissed,” as Holder noted that the defensive back felt his situation could’ve been handled better by head coach Chuck Pagano. Davis’ assertion was that he was demoted rather than being told up front he needs time to heal his injury.
