"The Pistons' game against the Celtics Wednesday might conjure up fans' memories of Rick Mahorn vs. Kevin McHale or even Bill Laimbeer vs. Robert Parish.
That's because the last time the teams met, on Nov. 2, Charlie Villanueva accused the Celtics' Kevin Garnett of calling him a "cancer patient."
Villanueva has alopecia universalis, a condition that results in hair loss. Hours after the Pistons' 109-86 loss, Villanueva, upset about the alleged comment, wrote these fighting words on his Twitter page, "I would love to get in a ring with him. I will expose him."
While Villanueva didn't want to talk much about Garnett this week, there's no doubt that he harbors bad feelings about the Celtics star.
"Who?" Villanueva said Monday when asked about Garnett. "It's just another game. I'm not worried about him. I'm going out there and playing."
Garnett, a notorious trash-talker, denied Villanueva's allegations. Garnett claimed that he told Villanueva: "You are cancerous to your team and the league.""
