Ryan Arcidiacono was one cool Cat down the stretch.

The sophomore point guard scored and passed for six key points in overtime as Villanova escaped with a 94-85 victory over Marquette at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

Marquette's Todd Mayo scored 10 points in the last 54 seconds of regulation, including three free throws with 4.8 seconds left, as Villanova blew a nine-point lead in the final three minutes.

But Arcidiacono opened the overtime scoring with two free throws. Later he fed center Daniel Ochefu for a hoop and added a driving layup of his own to make it an 86-79 lead. Marquette never got closer than five the rest of the way.

Guard James Bell scored a career-high 30 as Villanova (17-2, 6-1 Big East) cleared from its mouth the foul taste of a 28-point home loss to Creighton on Monday. Arcidiacono finished with 20 points, and Darrun Hilliard matched that total. Davante Gardner had 29 for Marquette (11-9, 3-4)
