"The Vikings open the bye week with a tough decision on cornerback Chris Cook, who faces felony charges for domestic assault by strangulation after an Oct. 22 arrest in his Eden Prairie home.

Cook is suspended indefinitely without pay. The coaching staff soon must decide whether to take further action, possibly releasing the promising 24-year-old cornerback.

When asked Monday if Cook could be released, coach Leslie Frazier said, "We've got a lot of things to talk about."

"We're actually going to sit down and discuss that this afternoon, see what direction we're going to be heading," Frazier said. "A lot of it has to do with what the league says and so on, but we've got a lot of things to talk about."

Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, the team can suspend Cook for up to four games for conduct detrimental to the team. The NFL also can punish Cook, who has missed the past two games. "
