"Percy Harvin doesn't miss the five-day stints away from the Vikings' facility on game weeks or the medication limiting him to bed rest while he wondered when the pain in his head would subside.

By the time the wide receiver would amble into a Saturday team meeting after battling severe migraines, the playbook in front of him was thick enough to give anyone a headache.

"You'd have to cram it all in - first down, second down, third down - all in one day," Harvin said. "I'd have to make up all the time I missed in order to play that week."

Doing enough to get on the field was the only option. Harvin wanted to play, and most of the time he did - often brilliantly.

To Harvin's relief, he hasn't had to endure any of those cram sessions since last season. It's been an entire offseason and six weeks of preseason work since his football world last collided with the debilitating migraines that have plagued him since elementary school.

Sure, the headaches could resurface at any time. But at least for the time being, Harvin has been spending a lot of time wondering this:
