"Bernard Berrian ended his drought in style.
After failing to reach the end zone since Nov. 22, 2009 against Seattle, Berrian slithered past two Cowboys defensive backs for a 49-yard touchdown catch with 7:58 left in the first quarter of Saturday's 23-17 exhibition loss.
Berrian, who finished with a team-high 64 receiving yards on the night, said he was "doing what you're blessed to do" on the play.
"It always feels good to put points up on the board," he said. "I'm trying to go out there and put up as many as we can and be an explosive offense."
Last season was Berrian's first since 2005 without a score, and any progress this year will separate him from a confusing 28-catch, 252-yard performance.
Berrian is the No. 2 receiver in the offense and is expected to be the team's primary deep threat.
