"Victor Martinez, the Tigers' No. 5 hitter who has been on the disabled list since April 19, will begin a rehabilitation assignment Monday with the Toledo Mud Hens.

Martinez has been sidelined by a sore groin. He is eligible to return to the Tigers lineup Wednesday and could play in that night's game against the New York Yankees at Comerica Park."
