Victor Cruz wants Mike Sullivan to be the Giants next offensive coordinator.

"Yeah, absolutely," he said today at the X Box Loft in Manhattan where he was promoting the console's NFL applications.

Cruz said he planned to text Sullivan, who was a quarterbacks coach during his last stretch with the Giants, when he had a free moment to see how everything went. Sullivan is interviewing with the team today.

Cruz did not think that the Giants needed to overhaul their offense. Sullivan has been known to run a scheme similar to the "broken" system piloted by Kevin Gilbride, who retired last week.

Instead, Cruz said the Giants just need to see it through a fresh lens.

"I could see that," Cruz said when asked about the perception surrounding the Giants hiring a Gilbride disciple. "But, you know, I think it’s just his familiarity with our personnel, with our offense, the one we had. Obviously, he’s running a similar offense with Tampa Bay but I’m sure he’ll have some tweaks here or there. I just think we need a refresher, I think, more so than people needing a whole big name. A refreshing face that we know, one we’re all comfortable with, and we can go from there."
