"Mike Bibby is no stranger to this playoff scene.
The soon-to-be 32-year-old Atlanta Hawks point guard has appeared in 70 postseason games, including 51 as a member of the Sacramento Kings.
So it was no real surprise that Bibby put up 19 points on 8-of-9 shooting in the Hawks' 102-92 victory in Game 1 against the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday.
While the Bucks were scrambling to deal with the Hawks' Al Horford and Josh Smith in the paint and chasing Joe Johnson on the perimeter, Bibby calmly was spotting up for open threes. He sank all three long-range shots he attempted, including one from the corner late in the third quarter that answered a Bucks rally.
"We knew coming into the series, this is the time of year Mike Bibby is very good himself," said Bucks coach Scott Skiles. "He's used to playing in the playoffs and taking and making big shots.
"When his feet are set, he's one of the better shooters in the game. We've got to do a better job of acknowledging where he is and coming out with more urgency."
Bibby joked after the opener that he wasn't sure if the Bucks knew he could shoot."
