Van Gundy wants to see Jameer Nelson and Gilbert Arenas improve on 'D'

"Stan Van Gundy faced a dilemma Tuesday night as his Orlando Magic prepared to face Cleveland Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena.

On one hand, the Magic coach didn't want Jameer Nelson and Gilbert Arenas to simply split the minutes at point guard. Ideally, he would like Nelson and Arenas to play simultaneously during some stretches of games.

On the other hand, Van Gundy felt reluctant to play Nelson and Arenas together because that pairing could create problems on defense for the Magic.

"They've got to be better defensively for us to be able to play them together," Van Gundy said as tipoff approached. "They'll both have to defend more, and what that means, if they do it, is more minutes for each of them. Otherwise, they're just splitting up the minutes at one position. So, with some defensive improvement, they could each get a few more minutes every game.""
