"Magic PG Jason Williams averaged just over 11 minutes in the first round of the playoffs — well under the 20 minutes he logged per game during the regular season.
The reason for that?
Jameer Nelson.
Nelson had such an outstanding series against the Charlotte Bobcats that coach Stan Van Gundy extended his minutes even beyond normal postseason playing time in stretches.
Nelson averaged 36 minutes per game, considerably more than the 28 minutes he put in during the regular season. He played 37 minutes in Game One and scored 32 points.
Nelson led the Magic in scoring during the series at 23.8 points per game.
Van Gundy said he probably played Nelson too much in the opener.."
