Coach Charlie Strong has said new offensive coordinator Joe Wickline will have the final say on play calls next season.

But Wickline acknowledged Wednesday that he and assistant head coach for offense Shawn Watson and the rest of the staff are in a collaborative situation with different coaches having responsibility for the running, passing and red-zone offenses.

“Ultimately, we’re all responsible for it,” Wickline said, “and we’re going to do it by committee.”

Regarded as one of the nation’s top offensive line coaches at Oklahoma State, Wickline had once been contacted about moving to Texas by Mack Brown. He said the decision was easier this time because of Strong, who he had coached with at Florida.

“It wasn’t difficult at all,” Wickline said. “Each year is different. Charlie Strong is as good as they come. He’s a great person.
