Continuing his rehab stint with Class A Clearwater, Chase Utley (chondromalacia in his left knee) was scheduled to bat third and play second base on Saturday night, marking the first time during his rehab that he would play the field on consecutive nights.

Utley played all nine innings at second base for the Threshers on Friday night. He went 0-for-3, was hit by a pitch and stole a base. In eight games with Clearwater, he is 5-for-29 (.172) with a home run and four RBIs.

The fact that Utley is playing the field two days in a row is a good sign. Saturday was the 12th day of Utley's rehab stint. Position players on rehab assignments have 20 days to be activated by the Major League club, barring setbacks, meaning Utley should be back no later than July 2 if all goes well.
