ased on one report, there’s certainly no lack of interest in a former Oklahoma quarterback.

Citing a source with knowledge of the situation, the Daily Oklahoman is reporting that more than 40 football programs — 42 to be specific — have expressed an interest in erstwhile Sooner Kendal Thompson. The report stated that the 42 were from the Div. I level, although it did not specify the breakdown between FBS and FCS programs.

The source told the paper that Thompson will visit Utah this weekend. Four visits to unnamed schools will also be made before Thompson settles on a landing spot. There’s no word on whether OU is pulling a Texas Tech as far as restrictions go.

Jan. 21, reports surfaced that Thompson would be transferring from OU. The school subsequently confirmed his departure.

As Thompson is on schedule to graduate in May, he will be eligible to play immediately at an FBS program. Not only that, he will have two years of eligibility remaining.
