No college football starting quarterback battles will be watched more closely this year than the one taking place at Ohio State. It should be a heck of a competition.

The race to replace J.T. Barrett will come down to three players – Dwayne Haskins, Joe Burrow and Tate Martell. All three players are capable of becoming very good starting QBs.

Urban Meyer recently opened up about the battle in an interview with 10TV’s Dom Tiberi. Ohio State’s head coach said the battle is wide open.

“(The QB race) is wide open,” Meyer said. “Dwayne (Haskins) finished the season as the backup, did a phenomenal thing on the road, in Ann Arbor. But Joe Burrow is a guy with toughness and ability, then you’ve got Tate Martell. This time last year he was a fish out of water trying to figure it out. He has grown as much as any player I can remember as far as maturity, as far as buying into our culture.”
