"Quarterback Todd Bouman played the entire second half of last night's opening preseason game with Jaguars quarterbacks David Garrard and Luke McCown both nursing injuries.

Garrard had this to say about his back: "Now it's to the point a lot of the pain is relieved in my back. I'm feeling better every day. Am I feeling good enough right now to play in a NFL football game? Probably not and that's why I'm standing here right now. I feel great about the way it's headed."

He aggravated a recurring back injury last week during Thursday night's practice. Garrard said the injury might have resulted from a lack of proper preventative care during the offseason.

During the first few days after, he had trouble walking without pain, but an MRI revealed it wasn't anything serious.

McCown's injury has been a little more of a mystery. Del Rio said after the game he would let McCown decide whether or not he wanted to say what his injury was. I stopped McCown on his way to the team bus.

We saw him get his torso wrapped during a practice last week and it turns out that's exactly where the issue was. McCown has some soreness in his left obliques."
