"Ryan Miller is doing well, Lindy Ruff said. Not well enough to practice, however, which is why the Buffalo Sabres left their injured goaltender home when they traveled to Washington.
Miller spent Saturday in Buffalo while his teammates faced the Capitals in Verizon Center. Miller, who is nursing an upper-body injury created by a puck to the collarbone area last week, was supposed to fly with the team to Washington on Friday evening but stayed behind.
"Just the fact it turned out he wasn't going to practice [Saturday], so we just felt we wouldn't bring him along," Ruff said. "He's still moving forward. Actually, he's doing well.""
