The University at Albany got 21 points from DJ Evans and 20 from Peter Hooley and outlasted Mount St. Mary’s 71-64 in a NCAA first round game at the University at Dayton Arena Tuesday night. This was the first NCAA Division I basketball win for the Danes, who earned a trip to Orlando, Fla. with the win.

The Danes will face Florida, the top seed in the whole tournament, Thursday afternoon at 4:10 at the Amway Center in Orlando. The Danes were scheduled to charter out of Dayton at midnight and head to Florida.

DJ Evans scored 21 points and Peter Hooley had 20 for the Danes, who improve to 19-14. Mount St. Mary’s, which made 12 3-point shots, got 21 points from freshman Will Miller. All of his baskets came from 3-point range
