"While the media clamored to be around some of the highly touted rookies and second-year players, Tyreke Evans didn't draw the same attention.
That's not a problem for Evans, who doesn't crave attention.
That doesn't mean Evans was pleased with his situation.
Evans sat out Friday night's T-Mobile Rookie Challenge because of plantar fasciitis in his left foot. The injury also kept him out of the Kings' final two games before the All-Star break.
Evans was the MVP of the Challenge last season in leading the rookies over the sophomores.
Evans said that after speaking with Kings basketball president Geoff Petrie, team trainer Pete Youngman and his agent, Bob Myers, the decision was made Thursday to sit out the Rookie Challenge."
