Channel 11 has learned Clairton native and current Cincinnati Bengals player Tyler Boyd now faces two drug charges after a car crash in July.

Boyd was also a star player at the University of Pittsburgh. He has been sent a summons and is due in court next month in Allegheny County. Police say on July 12 around 3 a.m., they were called to a car crash on State Route 837 near Valley Hotel in Jefferson Hills.

A black Mercedes-Benz had crashed into a guardrail there. Police say the car was driving fast and crossed the center line, hitting the guardrail.

However, when police arrived, no one was in the car.

They found out it was registered to Tyler Boyd. Inside police say they found an open bottle of cognac and an unopened bottle of peach Vodka. They also found vape pens with packaging saying the ingredients included distilled cannabis.
