Jonathan Stark scored 21 and teammate Lou Dabney poured in 17, but it wasn’t enough for Tulane to overtake Old Dominion late in Norfolk on Saturday night.

The Monarchs held on to win 70-64, snapping the Green Wave’s two-game winning streak. The Green Wave fell to 11-10 overall and 3-3 in Conference USA.

Stark hit a 3-pointer with 57 seconds left to cut the Old Dominion lead down to six points (63-57), but Tulane ran out of time as the Monarchs hit enough free throws to hold on in the final minute.

Stark, a freshman point guard, starred for the Green Wave on the off night. He connected on 7-of-15 shots from the floor and hit two 3-pointers late to try to vault Tulane back into the contest.

He hit 5-of-6 free throws as well, but turned the ball over four times as did fellow guard Lou Dabney.
