Jusuf Nurkic has always downplayed the revenge factor when facing the Denver Nuggets even as his demeanor on and off the court against his former team has run counter to comments.

But on Saturday night, Nurkic finally admitted that his first return trip to Denver holds more significance than an average regular season game.

"Yeah, that's a game I looked forward to definitely," the Portland Trail Blazers center said on Saturday, following a home win over the Dallas Mavericks. "It's a regular game here, but over there (it's) not. So, definitely super excited for Monday, looking for another win definitely."

In three games against the Nuggets, Nurkic is averaging 20.0 points and 7.0 rebounds and shooting 57.5 percent from the floor. It's his highest scoring average against any opponent and includes perhaps the best performance of his career, a massive 33-point, 16-rebound, three-block performance last March in a game that helped the Blazers edge the Nuggets out of the playoffs.

After that game, Nurkic wished the Nuggets a 'happy summer' in his on-court interview immediately following the win, twisting the knife following his first game against his former team.
