Tracy McGrady frustrated while waiting on bench

"Tracy McGrady is the new odd man out in the musical chairs of Pistons guards.

He doesn't like it, and admitted his new role has him rethinking his future in Detroit.

"It is out of my control," McGrady said Monday. "I can't do anything. When the coach puts the guys out there he wants to play, I don't really like it but it is what it is.

"I can't do anything about it but come out and practice and hopefully get my number called again. It is frustrating, though. It is really frustrating."

Pistons president Joe Dumars has said he wants McGrady to remain in Detroit.

And while McGrady said he has not made a decision, being benched for five games since missing a game-day shoot-around with a headache has his head spinning.

Pistons coach John Kuester said the missed practice has no bearing on McGrady's playing time.

"I hope not," McGrady said, when asked if he believed he is being singled out for missing the practice. "I beg that is not the case because that would not be right."

The frustrating part for McGrady is he played well his final game — 16 points and 12 assists in a 102-101 loss to Indiana on Feb. 23.

The problem is, Rodney Stuckey is playing some of the best basketball in his career lately, too.

Stuckey has averaged 21 points, eight assists and six rebounds the last four games."
