Spurs are weighing up a shock approach for the Everton boss after overlooking him two years ago.

White Hart Lane chairman Levy opted for Andre Villas-Boas ahead of the Spaniard to replace Harry Redknapp.

Having seen how things have turned out for Villas-Boas and Martinez, Levy has realised he got it wrong.

Villas-Boas lasted just 17 months at Spurs, despite spending £108m last summer.

And though Martinez went down with Wigan a year ago, he has enhanced his reputation by leading them to FA Cup glory and bouncing back from relegation by working wonders at Everton this season.

Spurs supremo Levy is now considering testing Everton's resolve to hang on to their impressive manager.
