Tottenham have been linked with a move for Nicolas Gaitan.

Big spenders Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to commit even more cash in January if reports are to be believed.

Portuguese newspaper A Bola claim the club are interested in Benfica winger Nicolas Gaitan.

"Tottenham coached by Portuguese André Villas Boas looks interested again in Nicolás Gaitán Argentine midfielder of Benfica... A possibility of Gaitán 25 leave the Stadium of Light to represent a team in England is old but still very much alive even if the interest of Manchester United has waned with the departure of Alex Ferguson. In January Tottenham can move to action."

Gaitan is a representative of super-agent Jorge Mendes who represents Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho.

The 25-year-old is a left-winger who would provide competition for and ease pressure on Nacer Chadli on the left of attack in the void left by world record departure Gareth Bale.
