Tim Sherwood will order his Spurs players to shake the hand of Charlie Adam at Stoke tomorrow.

Mirror Football revealed this morning that some of the north Londoners' stars were considering a snub for the Potters' midfielder as part of a long-running feud between the two clubs.

Spurs top brass shared the players' anger back in December after Paulinho was ruled out for a month with damaged ankle ligaments following a clash with Adam. The club formally complained to the FA.

Paulinho's Brazilian team-mate Sandro posted an Instagram message suggesting there could be retribution.

But Sherwood has dismissed it all and insisted he will demand his men show respect for the Stoke star in the pre-match formalities.

He said: "I am aware of the reports and it is nonsense. The players will do their duty and shake hands along that line to show respect to their opponents.

"I have not heard the boys talking about Charlie Adam at all. They are just concentrating on the game. I don't think it is a problem at all.
