Brandon Dubinsky will make his preseason debut in the Blue Jackets’ final tune-up for the regular season. Today, coach John Tortorella confirmed that the center will skate Saturday night at Pittsburgh after missing the other seven preseason games while recovering from offseason wrist surgery.

“He’s going to play a game (Saturday),” Tortorella said. “I’m sure he’s looking forward to it. Pitt, I know they’re going to have their lineup in so it’s a really good game for both teams to get ready for their season. It’s a good test.”

Last season, Dubinsky finished with 41 points (12 goals, 29 assists) in 80 games while dealing with an increasingly bothersome right wrist. The stated plan was for him to be ready for the regular season, which starts Oct. 6 against the New York Islanders.
