"Lakers center Andrew Bynum apologized Tuesday in his exit interview with Los Angeles reporters for hitting Mavericks guard J.J. Barea in Game 4 on Sunday.
"I want to apologize for my actions at the start of the fourth quarter in Dallas," Bynum said, via the L.A. Times. "This doesn't represent my upbringing and I want to apologize to J.J. Barea for doing that. I'm glad he wasn't seriously injured. All I can say is I look at it as terrible."
On Sunday, however, Bynum was not apologetic. He said after the game: "I'm not disappointed in myself. It is what it is. We got embarrassed tonight, so that's what happened."
Bynum said Tuesday he changed his sentiments after watching the replay. He also plans to reach out to Barea.
Things got ugly for the Lakers in the fourth quarter of Game 4, when Lamar Odom and Bynum lost their composure and were ejected."
