"Nearly everyone around LaDainian Tomlinson thinks Sunday's game with the Chargers will hold special meaning for the Jets running back.

Jets coach Rex Ryan said Tomlinson will make his first start of the season. Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer said facing your former team always holds special meaning. Teammates expect to see vintage Tomlinson.

But the man himself? He downplayed his first game against the team that drafted him and unceremoniously cut him loose after nine years.

"I'm not a guy who holds grudges or tries to prove anybody wrong," Tomlinson said. "I don't have time for that. It's nonsense. I had a great time there, a great nine years. And I won't make it more than what it is."
