Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau and veteran big man Taj Gibson are voicing their support for embattled Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Derrick Rose, who is apparently mulling over retirement, according to Nick Friedell of ESPN. Of course, Thibodeau coached both Rose and Gibson during the trio’s time with the Chicago Bulls.

“I don’t know any other player who has gone through what he’s gone through,” said Thibodeau. “Whatever it is that he decides, I would support him 100 percent. I just want him to have peace of mind, that’s the biggest thing. He’s not only a great player, but he’s a great person. And to go through what he has gone through, quite frankly, I don’t even know how he’s handled it.”

Rose has been dealing with another ankle injury that has led him to ponder his future.
