Tom Coughlin has no problem with Super Bowl XLVI trash talk between NY Giants and New England Patriots

"Tom Coughlin has heard plenty of big talk from his players during the run-up to Super Bowl XLVI. He also hasn't forgotten that Tom Brady kicked the week off by doing some talking, too.

Though the Giants downplayed it all week, Coughlin clearly took notice of what Brady said at a pep rally back in Foxborough last Sunday when he told the crowd of 25,000, "Hopefully we have a lot more people at our party next weekend." It was trash talk in its mildest form.

And Coughlin said the constant chatter coming from his players all week long wasn't any worse.

"I know that there are one or two quotes out there, but to be honest with you, I don't know that either one of them is any different than Tom Brady's quotes," Coughlin said Friday at his final press conference before Super Bowl Sunday. "I think it's just a matter of our team has played good football against great football teams.

"We always stress to our team: Humble enough to prepare, confident enough to perform."

They certainly are confident heading into their rematch with the AFC champion New England Patriots on Sunday night. They also haven't been shy about expressing it, whether it was Antrel Rolle saying "we're going to win this thing," Chris Canty telling fans to prepare for a parade, or Jason Pierre-Paul insisting the Giants' pass rush is already in Brady's head.

Coughlin, matter-of-factly, said, "I don't" worry about his players being too cocky. And if they are, he still has plenty of time to get them focused on a very difficult task. Though they've had nearly two full weeks to prepare, Coughlin said he'll be constantly preparing his team "right up through the kickoff." They had one final practice on Friday and will have many more meetings on Saturday, before he delivers his much-anticipated Saturday night address to the team."
