Toews toughs it out to play against Flyers

"Jonathan Toews didn't have much time to recuperate from being banged up 24 hours earlier, but that didn't stop the Blackhawks center from taking the ice for Sunday's game against the Flyers.

After not playing the final five minutes of Saturday's game against the Red Wings in Detroit with a lower-body injury, Toews logged the most ice time among Hawks forwards during their 4-1 loss to the Flyers. Toews finished with two shots on goal, two hits, two takeaways and was a minus-2 in 19 minutes, 45 seconds.

"I look at it two ways," Toews said. "Either you're good enough to go or you're not. (Saturday) I felt it was fine. Everyone along the season and in the playoffs you play with something here and there. I'm not making any excuses, just like the rest of the guys in this room don't. Whether you're playing with something or you're 100 percent it doesn't matter what you feel like, you have to find a way to produce.

"It's nothing serious."

The Hawks are back in action Tuesday night when they play host to the Wild, and coach Joel Quenneville said the team will take a wait-and-see approach on Toews' availability."
