"The Titans might have re-signed Keith Bulluck had the free-agent linebacker been more patient, Coach Jeff Fisher hinted on Friday.
Bulluck, who was coming off a long recovery from knee surgery, recently signed with the New York Giants, saying he thought the Titans had closed the door.
"That's hard to predict,'' Fisher said. "I mean, I guess you have to look at it from Keith's perspective. … Would he have been happy here with that deal as opposed to somewhere else? I don't know. It would be a difficult situation for me.
"I do know this: If anybody is going to overcome an injury it's going to be him. He is one of those guys, a Junior Seau-type. This is not his last hurrah."
Bulluck's contract with the Giants will reportedly pay him $855,000 this year. He also received a $100,000 signing bonus and could make additional money through incentives.
The Suffern, N.Y., native spent his first 10 NFL seasons with the Titans, who drafted him in 2000. A fan favorite, he was the team's most dependable defender, leading the Titans in tackles for six of the past eight seasons."
