Titans defense knows what Randy Moss can bring

"Offensive playmakers Vince Young and Chris Johnson may be the Titans most excited about the arrival of Randy Moss.

But if you want a true appreciation of what Moss brings to the table, you're better off talking to defenders, specifically those who've recently played against the seven-time Pro Bowl pick.

Suffice to say that the handful of defensive backs that tried unsuccessfully to stop Moss on a wintry afternoon last October won't soon forget the performance he put on during New England's 59-0 battering of the Titans.

When the snow finally settled, Moss had torched the Titans for eight catches, 129 yards and three touchdowns. His new teammates hope he'll impact future opponents in a similar manner.

"He was absolutely dominant," safety Donnie Nickey said. "We couldn't cover him. There were adverse weather conditions, but it didn't seem to affect him whatsoever. I don't know what his stats were that day, but it was the worst game I've been a part of. It's good to see him on our side."

Moss caught touchdown passes of 40 and 28 yards from Tom Brady as the Patriots piled up a 45-0 halftime lead. He added a nine-yard TD reception early in the third quarter.

"They ran flea-flickers and he got behind us," Coach Jeff Fisher said, "and they ran wheel (routes) and he got behind us."

As far as covering receivers with complete skill sets, the 6-foot-4, 210-pound Moss could be as much of a challenge as anyone in the league, safety Vincent Fuller said."
