A potential interception slipped through Adoree’ Jackson’s hands in the end zone late in the fourth quarter Sunday, allowing the 49ers the opportunity to tack on another field goal in a game the Titans ended up losing by two points.

Earlier, a fumble by Delanie Walker resulted in another three points for San Francisco.

“You’ve just got to make the plays that come to you,” Jackson said. “Just got to make them.”

Few plays determine the outcome of a game and a team’s success throughout the season like turnovers, and the Titans have been fighting an uphill battle in that regard, despite emphasizing their importance. They have 16 takeaways to 23 giveaways, and their minus-7 turnover differential ranks 26th in the NFL.

The Titans (8-6) are the only team in the AFC and one of just two in the NFL with a winning record — or even a .500 winning percentage — and a negative turnover differential. The Falcons (9-5), clinging to the final wild card spot in the NFC, are minus-4.
