The Titans won another game but lost their quarterback.

Jake Locker was taken to Saint Thomas Hospital by ambulance after suffering a right hip injury in the third quarter of a 38-13 win over the Jets at LP Field.

Locker took a hit from Jets defensive linemen Muhammad Wilkerson and Quinton Coples immediately grabbed his right hip and medical staff rushed to the field.

Locker was removed on a cart as fans chanted “Jake Jake Jake.” After examination in the locker room he was taken to the hospital but coach Mike Munchak said it was for further evaluation not emergency surgery.

There was no immediate update on Locker's condition Munchak said but it did not appear that the quarterback's hip "popped out" on the field.

"He was upset" Munchak said. "It's emotional."

The third-year pro who missed five games last season because of a shoulder injury was 18-of-24 passing for 149 yards three touchdowns and a 130.0 passer rating when he suffered the injury.

Backup Ryan Fitzpatrick replaced Locker with the Titans leading 24-6 with 11:14 remaining in the third quarter.

The Titans improved to 3-1 with the win and face the undefeated Chiefs next Sunday at LP Field to cap a three-game homestand.
