"Q: Why do you keep saying Tim Tebow takes too many hits as a runner when his biggest hits came in the pocket?
A: When it's no longer true, I will quit saying it.
During the 2011 season, Tebow took more hits inside and outside the pocket than any other NFL quarterback. Those hits take a toll. Rarely do you drive a nail with just one hit from a hammer.
Because of the way the Broncos use him, Tebow is at a higher risk for injury. He's in position to take more hits than any of his peers at quarterback. Tebow likely wouldn't have played in the AFC championship game if the Broncos had advanced that far because of the chest, rib and shoulder injuries he suffered in the 45-10 loss at New England in the AFC semifinals."
