Tigers designated hitter Victor Martinez hurt his right groin during Monday night's 8-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners, enough for manager Jim Leyland to say, "I'm sure we'll have to do something."

Meaning the probability of needing another catcher.

Leyland said he wasn't blaming anyone for the injury, and that before the game, "the groin felt great. It loosened up.

"But there's nothing like game speed. There's no blame, but we've been burned like that for 50 years."

Going into the game, Leyland wasn't sure about Martinez's health to this extent: Because of the groin that kept Martinez out of Sunday's game in Oakland, he wasn't going to catch any of the three games in his series.
