"Klay Thompson can flat shoot it.
So it wouldn't be a shock if the Milwaukee Bucks call his name next week when their turn comes to choose with the 10th overall pick in the NBA draft.
The 6-foot-7 Thompson, who averaged nearly 22 points a game as a junior at Washington State, was the featured performer in a six-player workout at the Cousins Center on Wednesday.
"I watch a lot of NBA, so I know about all the NBA teams," Thompson said after the workout session.
"I think I'd be a perfect fit, playing alongside Brandon (Jennings), a kid who is great with the ball, a great passer.
"I don't need the ball in my hands to be effective, so I think I'd be a great asset to any team. I think here I'd be a perfect fit because I can stretch the floor, be a great threat from that off-guard position and defend, rebound, pass, do whatever the coach asks me to do."
Thompson led the Pac-10 in scoring last season and ranked 11th in the nation.
He shot 42.1% from the field, 41.2% from three-point range and 90.3% from the free throw line.
It's no secret the Bucks, who finished last in the NBA in scoring and field goal percentage in 2010-'11, need an offensive boost.
They should have options at the No. 10 spot, including 6-6 shooting guard Alec Burks of Colorado, who already has worked out for Milwaukee and is a more athletic player than Thompson.
Or they could opt to go with Thompson and his sweet shooting stroke from distance."
