The New York Mets demoted catcher Travis d’Arnaud to Triple-A Las Vegas right after last night’s game. In a corresponding move, they called up Taylor Teagarden. d’Arnaud was hitting .180/.271/.273. How much his recent concussion has to do with his struggles is unclear, but it’s not like he was doing particularly well before his injury either.

d’Arnaud, who was acquired from the Blue Jays in the R.A. Dickey deal, made his big league debut last August and was almost exactly the same hitter in 112 plate appearances late last season as he has been in 145 so far this year.
