Jamal Jones scored 19 points and the host Aggies pulled away in the second half for an easy win over the Crimson Tide.

Alex Caruso added 14 points and Antwan Space hauled down a career-high 12 rebounds as Texas A&M (15-11, 6-7 SEC) improved to 14-2 at home and won for only the third time in 10 games overall. Jones was 8-of-15 from the field and 3-of-7 from 3-point range.

Trevor Releford scored 20 points to pace Alabama (10-16, 4-9), which tumbled to its sixth loss in seven games. Shannon Hale was the only other player in double figures with 12 points for the Crimson Tide, who managed only seven points in 11 1/2 minutes until Releford buried a 3-pointer at the final buzzer.

Jones scored six points in a 13-5 run as the Aggies surged ahead 42-35 and Jordan Green scored six points in a 12-3 burst to extend Texas A&M's lead to 54-41 with 8:10 to play. Alabama never got closer than 12 points thereafter as Releford was the only player to hit the scoresheet in the final nine minutes.

The first half was tight throughout before Levi Randolph and Rodney Cooper knocked down back-to-back 3-pointers in a 8-0 spurt to put the Crimson Tide on top 23-19. Texas A&M held Alabama scoreless for the final 3:17 of the half and a 3-pointer by Jones sent the Aggies into the locker room with a 24-23 edge.
