"The Texans have waived wide receiver David Anderson and running back Chris Ogbonnaya to make room on the roster for two wide receivers --- Derrick Mason and Trindon Holliday.
Mason, acquired from the New York Jets for a conditional seventh-round draft choice Tuesday, was not at practice Wednesday, but will be Thursday. Head coach Gary Kubiak said that Mason, 37, will get a crash course in learning the offense and may be able to play at Baltimore, where Mason played the last six seasons.
Among the injured players not practicing Wednesday were quarterback Matt Schaub (sore right shoulder), wide receiver Andre Johnson (hamstring) and fullback James Casey (slight pectoral tear). Kubiak said Schaub was given the day off to rest his shoulder. He also said Casey's status for the Baltimore game is on a day-to-day basis. Johnson will not play Sunday against the Ravens."
