"The Texans have acquired veteran receiver Derrick Mason from the New York Jets for a conditional 2012 draft choice.

Mason, 37, is playing in his 15th season. A roster spot will have to be cleared before he can officially join the team.

Playing in his first season with the Jets after spending eight with Tennessee and the last six with Baltimore, Mason fell out of favor with coach Rex Ryan after complaining about his playing time and the offense, according to media reports.

The Texans, who play at Baltimore on Sunday, were in the market for a receiver because Andre Johnson is recovering from a hamstring injury that could keep him out of another game or two and Kevin Walter (five catches, 81 yards, one touchdown) was the only productive wideout in Sunday's 25-20 loss to Oakland."
